Join Us in Remembrance
The Metropolitan New York Synod invites you to join us in person as we mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a Service of Holy Communion and special prayers at Good Shepherd Church in Plainview, Long Island, at 7:00pm.
Many of us remember where we were on the morning of September 11, 2001: the fear and bewilderment of that day, and of the weeks, months, and years that followed. The attacks touched congregations across our synod — in New York City, on Long Island, and up through our northern counties — and we gather as one synod to remember together.
We hope you will join us in gathering, praying, and remembering those who never came home, asking God to continue guiding us in our faith journey. Bishop Katrina Foster will preach, and Pastor David Parsons will preside, as we pray together and hear again the promise that Jesus will be with us always, to the end of the age.
