The Committee on Christian Unity and Interreligious Relationships (CUIR) of the New England Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church is graciously inviting everyone to an important webinar on White Christian Nationalism, a timely and urgent topic for the church today.
We are thrilled to announce that Jim Wallis will be our featured speaker.
Jim Wallis is a renowned public theologian, author, and justice advocate. He currently serves as the inaugural Archbishop Desmond Tutu Chair in Faith and Justice at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and is the founding Director of its Center on Faith and Justice. A bestselling author, his most recent book, The False White Gospel: Rejecting Christian Nationalism, Reclaiming True Faith, and Refounding Democracy, was released in April 2024 and has sparked national conversation.
Wallis also served on President Obama’s first White House Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and was named one of Washingtonian magazine’s 500 most influential people shaping policy in D.C. in 2022 and 2023. He is the founder of Sojourners, a movement committed to faith in action for social justice.
We invite you to join us for this engaging conversation as we explore how Christian communities can respond faithfully and prophetically to the rise of White Christian Nationalism.
