As the 2026 election season approaches, Election Earth is encouraging individuals and organizations to strengthen civic participation through its upcoming 10-Week Activation Challenge, a nonpartisan initiative designed to help voters prepare for Election Day while connecting climate concerns with democratic engagement.
Beginning August 24 and continuing through Election Day, the challenge will provide participants with weekly opportunities to take meaningful, actionable steps toward voter participation. Organizers describe the effort to empower communities to translate their environmental values into civic action through a series of simple, accessible activities.
Each week, Election Earth will highlight a specific 501(c)(3)-compliant, nonpartisan action that individuals and organizations can undertake. Activities will include checking voter registration status, creating a voting plan, building voter circles, signing the Climate Voter Pledge, learning about ballot measures and voting rights, promoting early voting, and encouraging others to cast their ballots.
The initiative is designed to be flexible, allowing organizations to participate in ways that align with their existing voter engagement efforts. Faith communities, nonprofits, health organizations, advocacy groups, and community networks are encouraged to share challenge activities with members, congregations, staff, volunteers, patients, and supporters.
To assist participants, Election Earth has developed a variety of ready-to-use resources. These include a 10-Week Activation Challenge Promotional Toolkit featuring newsletter content and social media messaging that organizations can immediately distribute through their communications channels. In addition, weekly downloadable social media graphics will be available to help partners promote the campaign and increase engagement across their networks.
The challenge is intended to complement, rather than replace, existing voter outreach programs. By providing practical tools and coordinated messaging, the initiative seeks to amplify local and national efforts to increase voter participation while elevating the role of climate-conscious citizens in the democratic process.
