Wednesday, May 20th
We're calling a one-day corporate fast for all CCC campuses on Wednesday, May 20th, as we prepare for Pentecost Sunday on May 24th. If you’ve never fasted before, don’t worry—this is a chance to take one step closer to God. Whether you fast for a few hours or the whole day, just join us.
In Acts 1–2, before the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost, the early church waited, prayed, and prepared their hearts together. We’re doing the same—fasting and praying as a church family, asking God to move with power in our lives and in our communities.
Start where you are. Check with your doctor if you have medical conditions. Here are some simple options:
1. Fast from all food and drink only water for the day
2. Fast from solid food but have liquids like juice or broth
3. Eat only one small meal during the day
4. Fast from sunrise to sunset
5. If you can’t fast from food for health reasons, fast from distractions like social media or TV—and dedicate that time to prayer and personal Bible Study. Remember: God looks at your heart.
• Read Acts 1–2 and Isaiah 58
• Set aside quiet time to pray
• Turn off distractions to hear from God
• Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit saying
• Ask God to fill you with fresh fire for His purpose
• Pray for others including family, friends, and your church home Fast to Give
• Use the money you would normally spend on food to bless someone in need or give to a charity of your choosing
• Offer your time to serve someone this week Fast to Feast
• Feast on Scripture and worship
• Feast on quiet time with God
• Feast on the joy of knowing He responds to those who seek Him Let’s fast together— we’re preparing for power. Let’s make space for God’s fire.
