March on Wall Street

Details:

March on Wall Street

This is a moment we cannot ignore. On July 17, we remembered Eric Garner, whose dying words, “I can’t breathe,” ignited a movement, and Congressman John Lewis, who dedicated his life to “good trouble” in the name of freedom and justice. Their legacies demand that we not only remember — but respond.

And now, as the Department of Justice seeks just one day in prison for the officer involved in Breonna Taylor’s death, we are reminded again of how cheap Black life is treated in both courtrooms and boardrooms.

But the fight we face goes beyond any single verdict or headline.

This is about economic justice. We march because while Wall Street posts record profits, working families are drowning under rising costs, stagnant wages, and shrinking access to housing, healthcare, and education.

We march because corporations get bailouts while communities get priced out. We march because the same system that devalues Black lives also devalues Black labor. From the African Burial Ground, where enslaved people built the foundation of this city, to Wall Street, where their descendants are still locked out of ownership and opportunity — we are marching to confront the roots of inequality at its source.

This is not just protest — it is a demand. A declaration. A movement.

Join faith leaders, labor unions, students, workers, and everyday people who refuse to stay silent. Come stand where power lives — and let power hear us. We still can’t breathe — until we all can.

In solidarity,
