Join the 1,000 Moral Voices Speaking Truth About the Immoral Budget

We are living in a time of deep moral crisis. The proposed federal budget threatens to gut essential programs that sustain the lives of the poor, women, children, and working families, while expanding wealth for the ultra-rich and fueling militarism and division.

As clergy and spiritual leaders, we are called not only to comfort the afflicted but to afflict the comfortable. We are the inheritors of prophetic traditions that challenge injustice, defend the vulnerable, and speak truth to power.

That is why we are calling 1,000 Moral Voices—faith leaders from across traditions and across this nation—to join together in monthly moral actions to proclaim the truth:

A budget that sacrifices the poor is a moral failure. A budget that rewards the wealthy at the expense of children is a sin.

By joining this initiative, you will be part of a nationwide effort to preach, teach, and act on behalf of a just economy, a moral democracy, and a future where every person is treated with dignity.

Together, we will:

• Preach sermons and offer teachings grounded in sacred texts and justice
• Lead prayer vigils and public witness at state capitols and in Washington, D.C.
• Deliver moral reports and petitions to lawmakers
• Equip our congregations with the truth about how policies are impacting their lives
