Join the People’s Campaign for Parole Justice on May 20 for a parole justice advocacy day in Albany to free our loved ones and make all communities safer. We'll gather in the NY State Capitol for meetings with key lawmakers and a rally/press conference. Food & transportation provided.

With the 2026 New York State budget slated to be enacted this week, we are now calling on the Legislature and Governor to turn their attention to enacting parole reform.

RAPP’s director Jose Saldana said, “In the wake of racist mobs of prison guards viciously murdering Robert Brooks and Messiah Nantwi, and the revelation that a racist culture of brutality has continued unchecked behind bars for years, lawmakers committed to addressing the crisis in our prison system. Civil rights leaders, leading crime survivor advocates, district attorneys, and public defenders alike, along with a majority of state legislators, all support the Fair & Timely Parole and Elder Parole bills because they are pragmatic solutions to ensure the parole system values

community safety and personal transformation above vengeance and perpetual punishment.”
