During the 2026 Midterm elections, Americans will exercise one of the most important rights of citizenship, the precious right to vote. While it is illegal, ICE will likely be at targeted polling sites, increasing fear and even keeping many from voting. God's word commands us to care for the vulnerable (Matthew 25), so we are asking faith and civic leaders to join us as Faiths United to Save Democracy (FUSD) Poll Chaplains/Peacekeepers. GUIDELINES:
Poll Chaplains/Peacekeepers provide a calm, moral presence; equipped to de-escalate conflicts.
FUSD does not provide transportation or stipends to volunteer Poll Chaplains/Peacekeepers.
FUSD requests 3-hour shifts from volunteers, with time preferences indicated during early voting and election-day sign-up.
FUSD encourages a "buddy system" where volunteers may complete the training together and be assigned to the same polling site.
Poll Chaplains/Peacekeepers are asked to go where needed most.
FAITH AND COMMUNITY LEADERS OUTSIDE (9) FUSD PRIORITY STATES AND POLLING SITES---may attend the FUSD Poll Chaplain/Peacekeeper Training and utilize 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683) for support during early voting and election day. However, they will not be FUSD certified, receive identification, or be assigned to polling sites.
