Where: Glens Falls, Nyack, Staten Island, and Long Island
Faith leaders from across New York are coming together on Thursday, July 31st, for a powerful Day of Action in response to devastating proposed federal budget cuts that would eliminate critical housing programs—including Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) and key components of the Continuum of Care (CoC) program. Rallies will take place in Glens Falls, Nyack, Staten Island, and Long Island.
The rallies are being organized by our friends the Supportive Housing Network of New York, Housing Works, and the National HIV/AIDS Housing Coalition. People of faith are standing up to say that “housing is a human right” and a sacred responsibility. These programs are not just budget lines—they are lifelines that provide shelter, dignity, and hope for people living with HIV/AIDS and for countless others at risk of homelessness.
As faith leaders, we are called to defend the most vulnerable in our communities. The Trump administration’s FY26 budget proposal would endanger thousands of lives by stripping away supportive housing services that keep people stable, healthy, and alive. We cannot stay silent.
Why should you care? Because this is about justice. It’s about ensuring that our neighbors—especially those most marginalized—aren’t left out in the cold. Our voices matter. Our presence matters. And together, we can make a difference.
📅 Join the rally on July 31st.
