Last week we released a new book: You Only Get What You’re Organized to Take: Lessons from the Movement to End Poverty. Our director, Rev. Liz Theoharis, and Noam Sandweiss-Back chronicle stories and learnings from some of the most significant anti-poverty struggles of the past 30 years. This book offers not only a powerful examination of the past, but a roadmap for how we fight back against rising authoritarianism and ignite a new era of movement-building.
In the next few weeks, Rev. Liz, Noam, and other movement leaders will be visiting Ithaca, Binghamton, Elmira, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, and New York City. They’ll offer lessons from the book, discuss the current moment, and share plans for a Survival Revival – a bold new national organizing drive that will connect with and link up survival struggles for housing, food, education, healthcare, wages, bodily autonomy, immigrant rights, and more.
We’d love to see you and your community at one of the tour stops!
