The Religious Nationalisms Project California Tour

We are pleased to announce that the next tour of The Religious Nationalisms Project of the New York Council of Churches will be held in Northern California -

November 20-23, 2025

This tour is entitled: 

The Weaponization of Hinduism in Northern California and India and the Relationships to Global Religious Nationalisms: An Interfaith Conversation and Response.

Many are confused why we as mainline Christians don’t just focus on Christian Nationalism. We believe you can’t understand Christian Nationalism apart from a more general analysis of religious nationalism which applies to the way all religions are distorted. One of the problems with Christian Nationalists is their hostility towards other faith traditions in the name of Jesus. We dissent! We have inclusive view of Christianity which strives to help the faith see the incarnation in the face of people of all faiths. As disciples we seek to find common cause with those who have their faith twisted and weaponized by those in power against religious minorities and to violate human rights.
