Please join us on April 29, 2025 at 7pm in Page Hall (135 Western Ave, Albany) for the Capital Region debut of the film, Ultimate Citizens.
This event is free and open to the public. Page Hall is on several CDTA bus routes (10 & 910), walkable, and also free parking is available.
ULTIMATE CITIZENS is the story of Jamshid Khajavi, an extraordinary 65-year-old Iranian American public school counselor who uses the sport of Ultimate Frisbee to help children heal. In an America where many families are quietly, barely getting by, Mr. Jamshid coaches an underdog team of kids on their way to compete in the world’s largest youth tournament. ULTIMATE CITIZENS is a celebration of resilience and belonging.
The film is 52 minutes and will be followed by a discussion with director Francine Strickwerda and representatives from co-organizers, the Albany Ultimate Disc Association and RISSE.
